UAE hosts 2nd Government Forum against Trafficking in Persons in the Middle East

 

 

Dr. Anwar Gargash affirmed the UAE?s continuous efforts and commitment to alleviate the suffering of victims of human trafficking and to promote and protect their rights, in order to put an end to this phenomenon, in line with the United Nations? Sustainable Development Goals ? 2030.

In his speech during the virtual forum, Dr. Gargash reviewed the efforts in combatting human trafficking in the Middle East region, especially in light of the current challenges faced by the world with the COVID-19 pandemic.

He added that the leadership of the United Arab Emirates attaches great importance to curbing the phenomenon of human trafficking, and urges joint regional action in combatting this crime.
