Sarah Shuhail, Executive Director of Ewaa shelters said the multi-language new hotline will serve all emirates. Shuhail noted that the shelters were keen to make the hotline multilingual to encourage victims of all nationalities to report cases of exploitation and abuse. Trained employees will respond to victims, who seek help or immediate intervention over the hotline. The UAE was one of the first countries that became aware about the suffering of human trafficking victims, citing the issuance of the federal law number 51 of 2006 against human trafficking, she added.
