Ras al-Khaimah reinforces UAE efforts to combat human trafficking with opening of shelter

The shelter, called the Aman (Safe) Centre for Women and Children, will provide rehabilitation and other services to victims of human trafficking in the emirate.

The opening of the centre comes as part of the UAE’s overall agenda for addressing and promoting issues of human rights, including the fight against human trafficking, which supports the National Committee’s five-pillar strategy of prevention, prosecution, punishment, protection and promotion.

Committee delegates from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation as well as representatives from the Ministry of Interior and other human trafficking centres from around the country visited the shelter to discuss work mechanisms and ways to strengthen cooperation in the battle against the crime
