During the meeting, held at Al Nakheel Palace with the Board of Directors of Shelters Centres ‘ Ewa’a’ in the UAE under Chairmanship of Dr. Hamdan Musallam al Mazrouei, Chairman of Ewa’a, Sheikh Hamdan emphasised that the UAE strongly supports international efforts to combat human trafficking through the development and ratification of legislation and laws, which prevent aggravation of this kind of crimes, deemed a stain on the conscience of mankind.
Sheikh Hamdan noted that the UAE was one of the first countries that called on the international community organisations to shoulder their responsibilities to protect civilians, particularly women and children from human trafficking, war crimes and crimes against humanity.
He added that the UAE, in a number of international events, kept warning against increasing challenges faced by woman and children since they were the most affected segments by crimes and conflicts, which increased the severity of vulnerability of these segments.
