GWU and EWAA sign MOA for Development of Social Strategic Partnerships

 

  The MoA,  signed by Noura Khalifa Al Suwaidi, Director General of the General Women’s Union, and Sarah Shuhail, Director General of Abu Dhabi Shelter and Humanitarian Care Centre,  aims to achieve Abu Dhabi government’s vision of coordination among all government departments and entities to ensure integration and utilization of available resources; and realize the two parties’ respective strategic goals, which will help raise awareness of Emirati family issues, and the importance of community cohesion.

According to Al Suwaidi, EWAA leverages its proven strategic capabilities and expertise in addressing cases involving victims of human trafficking; at the local, regional, and international levels, to protect domestic violence victims, as well as other society segments that have recently been part of its mandate. Praising the efforts made by EWAA, Al Suwaidi also emphasized the General Women’s Union desire to cooperate with EWAA to achieve family stability which will in turn lead to a more stable society. She stated that a strategic partnership with EWAA is a valuable addition to the Emirati women’s journey of success and excellence in various domains.

“Since Abu Dhabi Shelter and Humanitarian Care Centre provides shelter for victims of violence and abuse, including victims of domestic violence, human trafficking, and other several cases that might be referred by GWU’s Unified Family Counseling Portal, the first memorandum of understanding that EWAA sought to sign with the General Women’s Union aimed to achieve unity of purpose and realize the aspired integration?, Sarah Shuhail said. ?EWAA aims to lead a humanitarian mission for sheltering, care and provision of safe haven, health and psychological care for adult females and males as well as children in need ?, Shuhail added.
