“The new center is the latest of a series of effective initiatives, including partnerships among local actors, to combat the human trafficking crime and alleviate its consequences” he added.
?The UAE was among the first players on the international level to recognize the grave sufferings of the victims and was the first to issue a dedicated national law to combat the crime of human trafficking. Moreover, the Country created the UAE National Committee to Combat Human Trafficking to put in place an overall strategy to combat this crime,? he explained.
Executive Director of the EWAA Shelter, Sarah Shuhail expressed gratitude to HH Shaikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women?s Union, the Family Development Foundation and the Higher Council of Motherhood & Childhood, for her close follow-up and generous support of EWAA Shelters?s operations since their inception.
