Today, the Abu Dhabi Centre for Sheltering and Humanitarian Care -Ewaa, an affiliate of the Department of Community Development (DCD) in Abu Dhabi, organized a ceremony to honour partners who contributed to the success of its comprehensive awareness program at Expo 2020 Dubai. The program raised awareness on violence, abuse, and human trafficking issues, during the end of 2021.
Representatives from the Abu Dhabi Music & Arts Foundation (ADMAF), Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB), LVMH Perfumes and Cosmetics, International Golden Group (IGG), were recognized, along with Eng. Dana Johnny and Eng. Iris Aïvaliklis.
During the ceremony, Ewaa reviewed the results of its awareness program, which received strong interest from senior officials, media, and the public. Representatives of supporting and partnering entities, namely Her Excellency Hessa Bint Essa Buhumaid, Minister of Community Development, and His Excellency Dr. Mugheer Khamis Al Khaili, Head of the Department of Community Development, and others, participated in the program with insightful discussions. It attracted more than 35 media organizations in the region.
The program’s most prominent achievements were presented, including the launch of its interactive art exhibition ‘Bowling Pins’, which attracted more than a thousand visitors within three weeks after its opening. The exhibition showcased artworks created by survivors of human trafficking for whom the Centre provided care, rehabilitation, and empowerment.
Her Excellency Sarah Shuhail, Director-General of Ewaa,said in her welcoming keynote at the ceremony, “The Centre has always believed in the power of partnerships and their role in achieving common goals and promoting social responsibility. We consider strong relations with public and private sector institutions as valuable assets. Today, we see long-standing partnerships that represent a treasure of intrinsic value to us, and we also meet new partners with whom we can sustain growth and aspire to a promising future with them.”
“The program was organized with partners in conjunction with the launch of Ewaa’s new brand, confirming the keenness to renew bonds of cooperation and maintain continuity of work with the various stakeholders throughout its new path”, she commented.
The honouring ceremony was held at the Expo 2020 Dubai Women’s Pavilion, where sessions, workshops and dialogues were previously organized over three days at the end of last year, as part of the awareness program activities, with the presence and participation of government officials, experts, artists, and others.
