Al Sha’far launches Ministry of Interior’ report on human rights

 

 

Addressing the symposium titled “The balance between two genders and mechanisms of empowering women”, Al Sha’far stressed that the higher leadership has paid a lot of attention to the UAE women by involving them in various fields of work on equal footing with men. The Emirati women have become a role model due to their huge contributions to the development of the country.

He said that the Ministry of interior, as per the directives of Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, has given special attention to female staff members and provided them with all the training programs. Accordingly, they excelled in their performance and proved to be as equal as men in terms of strength and courage to further maintain the gains accomplished by the country. 

The participants discussed three papers at the symposium – the first paper on empowerment of women in the ministry of interior was presented by Major Amina Al Bloushi, Head of the coordinative committee for women police. 

Presented by the Yousif Al Nuaimi, a member of the National Tolerance Program, the second paper tacked the UAE’s efforts to eliminate racial discrimination. While the third paper titled “the balance between two genders and empowerment of women in the UAE”, was presented by Ahlam Al Lamaki, head of research and development at the General Women’s Union.

The symposium was attended by Major General Dr. Ahmed Nassir al Raisi, Inspector General at the Ministry of Interior: Major General Salim Mubarak Al Shamesi, Director General of Finance and Support Services, Brigadier Ahmed Mohammed Nukhaira, Director of Human Rights Department, members of the federal national l council, representatives of a number of ministries, institutions and local department and a assemblage of police officers, non-commissioned officers and female police members from across the ministry’s departments. 

At the end of the event, Lt. General Al Sha’far and Brigadier Mohamed al I Shehhi, Deputy Director of Human Rights Department honored the speakers.
